First Year students of SAIM&S presented a research paper at the XIIth International Conference on Sustainable Global Business Practices and Inclusive Growth. Their study focused on labor rights and wage fairness in India’s gig economy. The achievement highlights the institute’s commitment to research-based and socially responsible management education.
Academic curiosity and social awareness came together as students of BBA First Year from Sri Aurobindo Institute of Management and Science (SAIM&S) achieved a significant milestone by presenting a research paper at an international academic conference. Their paper, titled “Analyzing Labor Rights and Fair Wages in the Indian Gig Economy through the Lens of Justice-Driven Social Development,” was presented at the XIIth International Conference on Sustainable Global Business Practices and Inclusive Growth, organized by Vishist School of Management.
The research explored the evolving structure of India’s gig economy, focusing on labor rights, wage fairness, and the broader implications for social justice. Through critical analysis, the students examined how digital platforms are reshaping employment while raising important questions about equity, worker protection, and ethical business practices.
Participating in an international conference provided the students with valuable exposure to academic dialogue beyond the classroom. It allowed them to present their ideas before scholars, researchers, and professionals, helping them understand how research contributes to policy discussions and responsible management practices.
This academic accomplishment was made possible under the guidance of Dr. Richa Darshan, whose mentorship played a key role in shaping the research direction and refining the students’ analytical approach. Her support encouraged the students to engage deeply with real-world issues and approach management education with a strong sense of social responsibility.
The achievement reflects SAIM&S’s emphasis on research-driven learning, critical thinking, and values-based education. By encouraging students to participate in scholarly forums at an early stage of their academic journey, the institute continues to nurture future professionals who are not only business-oriented but also socially conscious and ethically grounded.
