Sri Aurobindo Group of Institutes, Indore, came together to celebrate India's Independence Day with patriotism, reflection and pride. From the flag hoisting ceremony and inspiring address on India's future to musical performances and a documentary on Sri Aurobindo's contribution to the freedom struggle, the celebration brought the entire academic community together in the spirit of a free and progressive India.
Independence Day at Sri Aurobindo Group of Institutes was more than a celebration. It was a reminder of the India we inherited, the India we are building, and the responsibility that comes with shaping its future.
On the occasion of India's Independence Day, the Sri Aurobindo Group of Institutes, Indore, came together to celebrate the spirit of freedom, unity, knowledge and progress that continues to define the nation.
The morning began with the ceremonial flag hoisting by Mr. Kinshuk Trivedi, Vice President, Sri Aurobindo Group of Institutes, and Mrs. Chani Trivedi, Group Director, accompanied by Dr. S.C. Chaturvedi, Director, SAIP, Dr. Sunil Kumar Dwivedi, Principal, SAIP, and members of the institute's leadership, faculty and staff.
As the tricolour rose against the morning sky, the entire campus stood together for the National Anthem — a moment that was simple, solemn and deeply powerful.
For an institution that brings together students and educators across engineering, management, pharmacy, commerce and design, moments such as these carry a special meaning. Education is not simply about preparing students for careers; it is about preparing them to participate meaningfully in the future of the country.
The celebrations continued in the auditorium with an inspiring address by our Hon'ble Vice President, who reflected on the distinctive strengths that give India its remarkable advantage.
He spoke about India's young population, unity in diversity, rich civilizational heritage, robust democracy and scientific temper — five strengths that together represent both India's extraordinary potential and its responsibility to the future.
But the address was not simply a celebration of what India has achieved.
It was also a call to action.
Among the challenges discussed was India's need to accelerate its efforts in research, innovation and emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence. At a time when AI is reshaping industries, education, healthcare, business and everyday life, the responsibility of educational institutions is greater than ever: to create young people who do not merely consume technology, but have the confidence and capability to create it.
That philosophy is already reflected in the way students across the Sri Aurobindo Group are encouraged to think beyond textbooks.
From students exploring advanced technologies through engineering and B.Tech education to those preparing for careers in management, healthcare, pharmacy, commerce and design, the larger objective remains the same — to create capable individuals who can contribute to a changing India.
India's next chapter will not be written by one discipline alone.
It will be written by engineers building intelligent systems, managers creating organisations and businesses, pharmacists contributing to healthcare, designers imagining better experiences, and professionals who can connect knowledge across disciplines.
That multidisciplinary spirit is one of the defining strengths of the Sri Aurobindo Group of Institutes.
For aspiring engineers, the journey may begin with a B.Tech education in areas such as Computer Science, AI and Machine Learning, Electronics, Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. For those looking to go deeper into technology and engineering, postgraduate opportunities through M.Tech programmes provide another pathway for advanced learning and specialisation.
And as technology increasingly intersects with every industry, areas such as Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence are becoming central to the country's future. Students exploring these fields can also find useful perspectives in our guide to Computer Science education and career opportunities.
But building India is not only a technological challenge.
It is also a leadership challenge.
Students aspiring to enter the world of business, entrepreneurship and corporate leadership can pursue management education through SAIT, while those exploring their first step into the business world can discover the possibilities offered through BBA education in Indore.
For students interested in postgraduate management, our MBA programmes focus on developing the decision-making, analytical and leadership capabilities that today's organisations increasingly demand.
Healthcare, meanwhile, represents another critical part of India's growth story.
At Sri Aurobindo Institute of Pharmacy, students are preparing for careers that contribute directly to one of the country's most important sectors. From B.Pharm education and Pharm D to postgraduate pharmacy education through M.Pharm and practical pathways such as D.Pharm, the goal extends beyond earning a qualification — it is about developing professionals capable of contributing to India's evolving healthcare ecosystem.
The same spirit of opportunity extends to commerce and management through B.Com, BBA and BBA in Hospital Administration, creating pathways for students with different interests, ambitions and ideas of what their future can look like.
Perhaps no field captures the idea of creating the future quite like design.
At the Center for Design Studies (CDS), students approach design not merely as an academic subject, but as a way of understanding people, technology, culture and the world around them.
The B.Des programme brings together creative thinking, technology, studio learning and real-world problem solving. Students interested in digital experiences can explore areas such as UI/UX design, while the broader design ecosystem opens doors to communication, visual design, digital experiences, gaming and emerging creative disciplines.
In many ways, this is what education in a free India should be about — giving young people the freedom to question, experiment, create and imagine something that does not yet exist.
The celebrations took an especially meaningful turn with a documentary exploring the life of Sri Aurobindo and his profound contribution to India's freedom struggle.
His story offers an important perspective on the meaning of independence.
Freedom was never simply about changing who governed the country. It was also about awakening the intellectual, cultural and spiritual strength of a nation.
That idea remains deeply relevant today.
A country becomes truly powerful when its young people are free to think independently, challenge established ideas, pursue knowledge, create new possibilities and take responsibility for the society around them.
This is also why the Group's educational philosophy goes beyond individual courses. Across its institutions, students are encouraged to develop not just professional competence, but confidence, curiosity, creativity and a sense of purpose.
For students and parents looking at the larger educational landscape, our guide to finding the right college in Indore reflects this same idea: choosing an institution is ultimately about finding an environment where a young person's potential can grow.
The patriotic spirit of the day continued through a series of performances that brought history and emotion into the auditorium.
Prof. Shantanu Mehta delivered a powerful rendition of a patriotic poem penned by Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the eve of India's independence in 1947.
The words carried the weight of history — but their meaning felt remarkably contemporary.
They reminded everyone present that every generation inherits the freedom secured by those who came before it, while also inheriting the responsibility of protecting and advancing it.
A soul-stirring musical performance by Prof. Mukul Sharma further elevated the atmosphere, bringing students, faculty and staff together through music and shared national pride.
Then came the documentary on Sri Aurobindo — taking the audience back to a period when India's freedom was still an aspiration rather than a reality.
Together, the performances created something more than an event programme.
They created a bridge between India's past and its future.
Eventually, the formal proceedings came to an end.
But like the best campus celebrations, the day continued in a much simpler and more human way.
Jalebi, poha and samosa brought everyone together, turning the conclusion of the programme into an informal moment of conversation, laughter and togetherness.
Because institutions are ultimately built by people.
Faculty members who teach.
Students who question.
Staff members who keep everything moving.
Leaders who create opportunities.
And generations of young people who arrive on campus with dreams of their own and leave carrying the responsibility of building something larger.
That is perhaps the most fitting way to celebrate Independence Day.
Not merely by looking back at how far India has travelled, but by asking what we can contribute to where it goes next.
The India of tomorrow will need engineers who can solve problems that do not yet exist.
It will need entrepreneurs who create employment rather than simply seek it.
It will need managers who lead with integrity.
It will need pharmacists and healthcare professionals who improve lives.
It will need designers who make technology more human.
It will need researchers who push beyond the boundaries of what is known.
And above all, it will need young citizens who understand that freedom comes with responsibility.
At Sri Aurobindo Group of Institutes, that journey begins in classrooms, laboratories, studios, workshops, libraries and campuses — but it does not end there.
Whether a student chooses engineering, management, pharmacy, commerce or design, education is ultimately preparation for participation in the larger story of India.
As the tricolour flew over the campus and the National Anthem filled the air, that idea felt particularly clear.
India's freedom was won by those who dared to imagine a different future.
The next chapter belongs to those who dare to build it.
