Pharm D

Doctor Of Pharmacy

Introduction to the Course

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) started in 2008 in India with an objective to improve clinical pharmacy education nationwide. Sri Aurobindo Institute of Pharmacy (SAIP) with the proclaimed objective of becoming a center for excellence for advanced studies in pharmaceutical sciences launched Pharm D program in 2018 and became one of its kind institutes to start the course in central India.

In addition to subjects of B. Pharm, the Pharm D course inculcates pharmacy practice components mainly focusing on community pharmacy, pharmacotherapeutics, clinical pharmacy, biostatistics and research methodology along with pharmacotherapeutic drug monitoring. Pharm D students during the academic schedule of the program have to undergo six months project work that provides them with better overall skills and in-depth knowledge of clinical aspects of drugs.

The proximity of the Medical College Hospital campus allows SAIP to facilitate collaborative research to students. SAIP focuses on all the year-round development of students and for this institute has established sophisticated analytical instruments lab (SAIL) and Innovation center for drug design and development (IC3D) to strengthen the academic and research capability of students and faculties.
