National Science Day 2026 Celebrated at SAIT Indore with Expert Talks

Sri Aurobindo Institute of Technology celebrated National Science Day with expert lectures and student activities. The event was sponsored by the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, Bhopal. It encouraged curiosity, innovation, and scientific thinking among students.

Sri Aurobindo Institute of Technology (SAIT), Indore, successfully organized a National Science Day celebration sponsored by the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCST), Bhopal. The event aimed to promote scientific understanding, creativity, and analytical thinking among students while encouraging them to explore the importance of research and innovation in modern society.

 

The program began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the spirit of knowledge and discovery. This was followed by a welcome address by Dr. Aaquil Bunglowala, Director of SAIT, who emphasized the significance of cultivating scientific curiosity among young minds and highlighted the role of institutions in nurturing future innovators and researchers. The dignitaries and invited speakers were warmly welcomed with floral greetings. The event featured distinguished speakers from the scientific and academic community who shared their insights and experiences with students. 

 

Dr. Vijay Kumar Dwivedi, Scientific Officer at the Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, delivered an engaging session explaining the practical applications of the Raman Effect, particularly in the field of medicines and pharmaceutical analysis. He also educated students about counterfeit pharmaceuticals, explaining how scientific techniques are used to identify and prevent the circulation of fake medicines in the healthcare system. 

 

Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Sharma from Government Holkar Science College delivered a thought-provoking lecture highlighting the difference between knowledge and science. He explained that while knowledge represents what we believe we understand, science validates that understanding through observation, experimentation, and evidence. His statement, “Knowledge tells us what we think we know; Science ensures we truly know it,” resonated strongly with the students and encouraged them to adopt a more analytical approach to learning. 

 

Shri Vijay Kumar, a senior scientist, shared valuable insights into the evolving landscape of scientific research and innovation. His session emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and the role of scientific thinking in addressing real-world challenges. Dr. Anupam Mandloi, Vice Principal of SAIT, conducted an open and interactive session with students, encouraging them to ask questions and explore their curiosity. He also highlighted the remarkable contributions of women scientists who have played a crucial role in shaping the foundations of modern science, inspiring students to appreciate the diversity and inclusivity within the scientific community.

 

In addition to the expert lectures, the event also included student-centered activities and competitions designed to encourage creativity and scientific exploration. Students participated enthusiastically, demonstrating innovation, analytical skills, and teamwork.

 

The program concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where students who excelled in the activities were recognized and honored for their achievements. The event ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Amit Holkar, Head Academics, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, speakers, faculty members, and students for making the celebration meaningful and impactful.

 

The celebration of National Science Day at SAIT reinforced the institute’s commitment to promoting scientific awareness, innovation, and intellectual curiosity among students.
