The ever-evolving field of computer science and engineering witnessed another milestone at Sri Aurobindo Institute of Technology with the "TCS Career Orientation Program" held on September 22nd, 2023.
Organized by the Department of Computer Science Engineering, the event aimed to provide students with insights into the world of tech careers, specifically with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
The day commenced at 10:00 AM with the arrival of the esteemed guest, Mr. Ankit Sharma, HCM Recruit consultant at TCS.
Dr. Anupam Mandloi, Vice Principal, SAIT, presented a bouquet of flowers as a token of appreciation and welcome to Mr. Sharma. Following this, Mr. Sunil Parihar, the Head of Department, Computer Science Engineering, addressed the gathering, setting the tone for the event and briefing the attendees about the significance of the orientation program.
The highlight of the event was the expert session led by Mr. Sharma. Drawing from his vast experience and knowledge, he shared invaluable insights with the students.
One of his key recommendations was the practice of maintaining a personal diary. He emphasized the importance of noting down crucial points, self-reflections, and areas of improvement. 
Mr. Sharma encouraged students to dedicate atleast 30 minutes daily to work on their weaknesses, ensuring consistent personal growth.
Laying out a comprehensive four-year roadmap for B.Tech students, Mr. Sharma stressed the importance of honing soft skills.
From effective communication and public speaking to mastering group discussions, he covered a spectrum of skills essential for a successful career in tech. Through real-life examples, he inspired students to learn from their setbacks, uphold honesty in their endeavors, and continuously strive for excellence.
Furthermore, for those with aspirations beyond the corporate world, Mr. Sharma provided guidance on preparing for government examinations and delving into the realm of startups and entrepreneurship.
The session was not just a monologue but an interactive platform where students actively engaged, asked questions, and sought advice. The atmosphere was charged with curiosity, enthusiasm, and a thirst for knowledge.
As the event drew to a close at 12:00 PM, Mr. Sunil Parihar expressed gratitude on behalf of SAIT. He thanked Mr. Sharma for his invaluable contributions and the attendees for their active participation.
The SAIT Auditorium, buzzing with around 200 students and faculty members, resonated with applause and appreciation.
The TCS Career Orientation Program was more than just an event; it was an experience, a guide, and a stepping stone for many aspiring tech professionals. As the attendees left the auditorium, they carried with them not just knowledge but also a vision for their future.
