SAIP - IIC  held a Session on Jan Aushadhi Kendra Awareness (PMBJP)

The Institute's Innovation Council Cell at Sri Aurobindo Institute of Pharmacy organized a session on Jan Aushadhi Kendra Awareness on 6th March, 2023.

Mr. Vivek Sharma, Zonal Manager PMBi, Department of Pharmaceutical Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers was the invited guest speaker on this occasion. The event was coordinated by Mrs. Neha Upadhyay (Associate Professor - SAIP). The objective of the event was to provide the attendees a broad idea about Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP). 

The session began with detailed introduction of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP). The speaker explained the surety of quality of generic medicines for all the section of the population especially for the poor and the deprived ones.

The session focussed on the fact that flagship scheme of the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India, made significant impact to the lives of common people by providing quality generic medicines at an affordable price. There has been 100 times growth in number of Kendras which were only 80 in 2014, and now have grown to more than 9,000 Kendras, covering almost all the districts of the country.

The speaker for the event, Mr. Sharma then concluded the session by explaining how one can opt for Jan Aushadhi Kendra.

The session on the topic Jan Aushadhi Kendra was overall very interactive and helped the students know and be aware about generic medicines through education and publicity to counter the perception that quality is synonymous with high prices only.
