Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi at Sri Aurobindo Group of Institutes (SAGI)

Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi at Sri Aurobindo Group of Institutes (SAGI)

At Sri Aurobindo Group of Institutes (SAGI), Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated with much enthusiasm on the 7th of September in 2024. The day was more eventful because it was also the day of Induction Programs of the new batches in the Sri Aurobindo Institute of Technology (SAIT) and the Sri Aurobindo Institute of Management and Science (SAIM&S). Religious activities and academic activities led to a colorful eventful day of devotion and celebrations.

A Day of Divine Beginnings

The celebrations started with the Ganesh Sthapna, which is the installation of Lord Ganesha’s statue during the festival. The entire premises of SAGI especially the main hall were adorned with flowers, lights, and rangoli which gave out a pious as well as a celebrative vibe. A spectacle was witnessed wherein students faculty and staff gathered to witness the idol of Lord Ganesha placed on a platform decorated with glitters. It was performed gracefully and religiously at the beginning of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

Ganesh Aarti and Devotional Moments

The highlight of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebration was the Aarti, which is an important ritual where people offer prayers and sing bhajans in honor of Lord Ganesha. The Aarti ceremony was quite passionate and incorporated various facets of Indian traditions. Everyone joined in the singing of religious songs and the pattern clapping that was done during prayers for everyone was in attendance. It was a spiritual charge that created a certain level of expectancy, and the act of worship brought everyone closer, bound by faith.

Dhol Celebrations and Festive Fun

Dhol festivities were also notable since they occurred throughout the day, contributing to the festivities. The sound from the dhols resonated around the campus and people danced to the rhythm. It was particularly interesting to watch dhol performances with the most student staff joining in the dancing along with the rhythm. The authentic rhythms and energetic dances generated a joyful atmosphere on campus turning it into a festive area.

Double the Joy

The Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations became even grander as the events coincided with the Induction Programs of the newly admitted students of SAIT and SAIM&S. The double celebration was fun-filled, it made the day a mix of learning and celebration, which the children enjoyed. During orientation activities, new learners at SAIT and SAIM&S were welcomed warmly and enthusiastically. The Ganesh Chaturthi was fun and festive too which made their first day at the institute even more enjoyable.

Notably, the Induction Programs for the new batches at SAIT and SAIM&S were energetic events in their rights. An orientation, including fun activities, inspirational speeches, and informative and entertaining sessions, was conducted to welcome the students to their college. The occurrence of Ganesh Chaturthi added charm and glamour to the event, making the beginning of their education fruitful and happy.

Fun and Festivities

The day was incorporated with many activities which made the community have lots of fun throughout the day. It would be hardly possible to forget everything – the rituals, the music, and the festivities which took place. The Ganesh Chaturthi festival was not only performed spiritually and religiously but also as a form of celebration to share joy within the SAGI community.

With such great enthusiasm, the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities ended as the day drew to a close with satisfaction and joy. The celebrations coupled with the induction programs created a fun and joyful atmosphere to shape the positive expectations for the new academic year that was approaching. Everyone here was happy and friendly and the atmosphere around the campus was full of smiles which gave the idea that it was a day not to be forgotten.

Thus, the Ganesh Chaturthi celebration that took place at Sri Aurobindo Group of Institutes (SAGI) was truly magnificent and embodied faith as well as enthusiasm. The day was full of joy with Ganesh Sthapna, the feel of touching Aarti, dhol, and the pleasure of new students. It was a day of double rejoicing where spirituality and the start of college life were well complemented to make a colorful and joyous atmosphere for those involved.
